THE POSITION 

The Analyst will work with our Strategic Initiatives Team and provide a range of services as part of the Last Mile Consulting service and other strategic initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as economics or business management.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills. 
  • Advanced computer skills with fluency in Excel and PowerPoint.

RESPONSIBILITIES : 
MARKET RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS
  • Conduct research on the socio-economic status of particular geographic locations in Nigeria and other developing countries.
  • Conduct market research on specific sectors – water, energy, education, housing, agriculture, IT, health, etc. - in Nigeria and other developing countries.
FIELDWORK
  • Prepare, coordinate, and conduct interviews with households and businesses.
  • Host and accompany clients on field visits and help with interpretation as necessary.
  • Coordinate product distribution to last mile communities through local partners.
DATA ANALYSIS AND REPORT WRITING
  • Clean and analyze data collected in the field
  • Interpret and summarize the findings in a succinct, visual way
  • Propose actionable recommendations to clients based on key findings. 
PARTNERSHIP BUILDING
  • Liaise with and build partnership with local government and relevant authorities
  • Develop new partnerships with local partners
OTHER TASKS
  • Respond to incoming correspondence from local partners and clients
  • Undertake other tasks as requested by the team and management

Governance and Anti Corruption Operations Analyst
 
To accelerate poverty reduction, the Government of Indonesia has been implementing a national-wide community-based empowerment program for poverty reduction, inclusive of the following core programs: PNPM Perdesaan, PNPM Perkotaan, PNPM Rural Infrastructure (RIS-PNPM), and PNPM PISEW. Currently PNPM is in full-scale and already covers all kecamatan and almost 80% of villages across Indonesia. Managing such a massive program is complex that requires a tool and well-functioning data management system. To support Pokja Pengendali PNPM Mandiri in developing and managing a Data Warehouse, the Sekretariat of Pokja Pengendali PNPM Mandiri in the office of the Coordinating Ministry for People’s Welfare requires Governance and Anti Corruption Operations Analyst.
 
Tasks and Responsibilities
 
a)   To manage the overall data and information of PNPM Complaint Handling System, conducting analytical work such as study, review, policy paper relates to governance and anti corruption in the implementation of PNPM Programs.  
b)   To support the Secretariat of Pokja Pengendali in developing initiatives on better governance, anti corruption areas as well as mainstreaming access to justice within PNPM Programs. 
c)    To support the Secretariat of Pokja Pengendali in the Complaints Handling Unit (CHU) data integrations of PNPM core programs.  
d)    To support the Secretariat of Pokja Pengendali to respond to complaints in PNPM implementation. 
e)    As the described job cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to perform others related duties that may be assigned.     
 
Output and Reporting
 
The outputs of these tasks will include the following:
a)       Regular policy recommendation paper of the current status of the implementation  governance, anti corruption and complaint handling data of PNPM core programs. 
b)       Brief review of complaint handling data of PNPM core programs 
c)       Progress report of the development GAC initiatives developed by the Secretariat of Pokja Pengendali 
d)       Regular input for other PNPM issues as requested by the Secretariat of Pokja Pengendali  
 
Selection criteria
 
a)     Master Degree with 2 years relevant experience, or Bachelor Degree with 5 years.
b)     Strong background in policy analysis and research in the areas of good governance, anti  Corruption, access to justice and community driven development.
c)      Strong understanding of poverty reduction and or community empowerment and experienceof working with donors and government agencies.
d)      Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare short and    concise reports and information materials.
e)      Demonstrated excellent leadership and analytical skills.
f)       Excellent time management and organizing skills.
g)      Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
 
The selected candidate will be assigned  to Sekretariat PNPM Mandiri  in the office of Kemenko Kesra working as a team in coordination with other Consultants assigned in Secretariat of Pokja Pengendali as well as CHUs of PNPM programs, as well under overall oversight by the PNPM Support Facility’s officer in charge.
Length of Assignment
This initial contract is for 75 days covering 6 months period starting effective immediately.

Social & Scientific Systems, Inc. is looking for Financial/Procurement Analyst with the following requirements and job description.

Job Description:
Provide financial/procurement support to Social & Scientific Systems, Inc. (SSS) for the Indonesia Research Partnership on Infectious Disease (INA- RESPOND) Secretariat  in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of work, and must be fluent in both written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks to Support SSS Financial & Administrative Tracking and Reporting:
·   Coordinate and support the financial management and other business operations activities for all current and future studies supported by the Network: 
o  Formulate budget projections.
o  Assess, monitor and control Network projected spending and actual expenditures against budget.
o  Prepare financial reports such as budget versus actual reports, and management discussion and analysis
narratives.
o  Monitor and prepare yearly reports on the location and condition of Government Funded Equipment (GFE) and submit to SSS.

·  Perform procurement functions and negotiate best prices with vendors. Provide documentation of vendor costs in an Excel spreadsheet and justify supporting choice of vendor.
·  Proactively coordinate the ordering of office supplies, assuring that supplies are stocked.
·  Work with SSS-Headquarters staff (SSS-HQ) to ensure that contract authorizations are in place, such as are
required for travel, conference, hotel and purchase of equipment. Prepare budget for regional travel to meetings and reconcile travel expense forms if necessary.
·  Process invoices and prepare Expense Reports (EA’s) and send them to finance for payment.
·  Maintain project files and project-specific contact databases.
·  Perform other office, and financial duties as directed by the Finance & Administrative Manager.    
·  Assist in preparation of monthly financial reports for submission to SSS on the activities, problems/resolutions, and plans for the coming month and submit by the 5th of every month.
·  Reviews and updates the Office Inventory List.
 
Tasks to Support the Conduct of Clinical Trials In Indonesia:
·  Support the National Institutes of Health Research and Development (NIHRD) with the review of the Monthly
Financial Report from research sites and take corrective action in case of errors.
·  Review Budget Activity Fund Request and the Settlement Report from all regional offices.
·  Prepare financial analysis as requested.
·  Process travel expense reports for research site staff and consultants.
·  Inspect deliveries against the orders and track the status of outstanding orders.
·  Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
 
Required Skills 
·  Skilled in operating standard office equipment
·  Strong knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and
record keeping
·  Strong knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management
·  Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English languages, both written and verbal
·   Self-organized with a strong sense of prioritization.  Must be comfortable working in fast-paced environment
·   Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
·   Strong written and verbal communication abilities
·   High level of proficiency in Microsoft business applications, Excel and Word
·   High level of accuracy and attention to detail
·   The ability to competently and independently manage all of  the Duties and Responsibilities with minimal guidance and supervision
