JAKARTA
Program Summary:
Mercy Corps and NIKE wish to support factory workers in Indonesia through NIKE funded
progranming. The first 6 months will be dedicated for conducting a rigorous research on some of the key issues that have been previously identified, to develop a strategy for building the resilience of factory workers, their families and their communities in two locations: Tangerang and Karawang. The research is part of the Equitable Manufacturing (EM) practice initiated by Nike Corporation. The overall objective of the project is to develop a clear trategy for future programing to improve NIKE factory worker welfare by
reducing cost of living and building community capacity to address systemic
problems.
1. Project Manager
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising a team of program officers to design, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate project activities which will be heavily emphasized on research activities. In addition, the Project Manager is
accountable for finalizing timelines, work plans, staff development, deployment
and supervision as well as maintaining coordination with technical support
staff and other projects and departments of Mercy Corps
Qualifications:
· Possess a relevant master’s degree or relevant 5+ years work experience;
· Able to think critically and analytically, preferably in research settings;
· Familiar with research methodologies;
· Experience working closely with donors and partners, preferably those in the private sectors;
· Experience working with communities and/or development projects;
· Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
This position will be as fixed term employee for 6 months
