Hivos is a Dutch non-governmental organization guided by humanist values. It aims at structural poverty alleviation with a strong focus on civil society building and sustainable economic development. Hivos provides financial support for local NGO's, is active in networking, lobbying and exchanging knowledge and expertise. For its Southeast Asia Regional Office in Jakarta, Hivos seeks qualified Indonesian candidates for the position of:

Functional context
The Project Manager Green Energy (BIRU) will contribute to Hivos’ objective to assure access to energy for all. This implies a reduction of energy consumption in high income regions and an increase in access to renewable energy for poor men and women in developing countries to alleviate poverty, improve living conditions and propel economic development. More than 1.5 billion people are currently without access to electricity and nearly 2.4 billion people still use traditional biomass fuels for cooking and heating, causing severe health problems and the death of 1.9 million people per year from indoor pollution.

Since 15 May 2009, Hivos is running the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme, funded by the Dutch government. This programme is undertaken in close cooperation with SNV Netherlands Development organization.

The overall objective of the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Programme (also known as the BIRU programme) is to disseminate domestic bio-digesters as a local and sustainable energy source through the development of a commercial market oriented sector in selected provinces.
 

Roles and responsibilities:
  1. Supervise the work of IDBP staff and identify and resolve problems as needed and ensure that they stick to their job descriptions, programme guidelines, budgets, implementation plans and other relevant instruction.
  2. Support the recruitment of BIRU staffs at national and provincial level and to assist in the preparation of Terms of References for consultants and programme activities.
  3. Establish and foster good coordination among stakeholders and donors.
  4. Assist in research, studies and surveys and evaluation activities.
  5. Liaise with stakeholders (government, NGOs, private sector, cooperatives) and maintain a network to support the development of a biogas sector and in charge for issuing cooperative agreement between Hivos and government.
  6. Coordinate production of Provincial Programme Implementation documents and other planning documents, budgets and other provincial outputs and make sure that data collection procedures for the bio-digester MIS are followed timely and accurately.
  7. Manage PBPOS three-monthly reports and Stakeholders meeting and ensure the submission of the reports within agreed deadines.
  8. Responsibility to check narrative and financial reports before being submitted to donors.
  9. To identify and assess problems/specific issues and work with the IDBP team to solve these issues (i.e. issues from PBPO – Lampung, issues from PBPO – Bali; issues from PBPO – Sumba).
  10. Lead the national biogas programme support office team in terms of management and liaising with the provincial offices.
  11. Support knowledge dissemination through training, mentoring and field visits and undertake clients’ feedback.
  12. Lead regular IDBP Carbon Monitoring, Reporting & Verification activities in cooperation with consultant(s) in the Energy and Agriculture domains, under the Gold Standard certification.
  13.  To roll out new innovative initiatives that are relevant to IDBP development, such as but not limited to expansion of work areas.


Knowledge, experiences and competencies
  • A degree in rural development, sustainable energy, environmental and natural resource management, economics of natural resources or other relevant field.
  • An understanding of energy project development.
  • Profound understanding of the socio-economic aspects, including gender, of development projects.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills including public speaking in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Show successful track record working in and within multidisciplinary team.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in program design, management and evaluation.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with donors, civil society organizations, government officials and community.
  • Sound experience in managing partnerships and multi actor initiatives.
  • Good understanding of and strong affinity with civil society, in particular with non-governmental organizations.
  • Previous working experience in an international environment/organization would be an advantage.
  • Having respect for humanitarian or humanist principles and willing to work in a non- discriminating, neutral, impartial and gender equal environment.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally for related events.

# Street Children Rescue Staff 
Sending our rescue team out on to the streets, to identify vulnerable street children and providing them medication, sports activities, and telling them to leave the street life.

Yayasan ISCO

Yayasan ISCO merupakan organisasi non-pemerintah (NGO) yang berfokus kepada pendidikan anak marginal di wilayah kumuh ‘penghasil’ anak jalanan. Didirikan pada tahun 1999 dan didedikasikan untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup anak-anak jalanan melalui pendidikan. Misi awal pendirian yayasan ini adalah untuk menekan dampak sosial akibat krisis ekonomi dan moneter yang menimpa Indonesia di akhir 1990-an.
 
ISCO hadir untuk ribuan anak miskin jalanan Indonesia. Visi kami adalah mereka dapat bersekolah, memiliki kesempatan yang sama dalam hidup dan berani untuk mempunyai mimpi bagi masa depan mereka. ISCO berjuang untuk membantu komunitas yang termarjinal, mereka yang hidup di bawah garis kemiskinan, dan mereka yang menderita oleh karena krisis yang berkepanjangan.
 
 
APA YANG DILAKUKAN ISCO?
Pertama kali berdiri, ISCO mulai membantu anak-anak di 2 area, yaitu Kampung Jembatan (Cipinang Besar Selatan, Jakarta Timur) dan Manggarai (Jakarta Selatan). Anak-anak disini dipaksa untuk bekerja di jalanan dan seringkali putus sekolah karena orang tua mereka tidak dapat membiayai keperluan sekolah dan pengeluaran lainnya.
 
Saat ini sudah ada 27 area dampingan ISCO yang berlokasi di lingkungan kumuh di  kota-kota besar Indonesia yaitu Jakarta, Surabaya dan Medan. Di setiap area disediakan Sanggar tempat anak berkreatifitas dan didukung oleh tim lapangan ISCO. ISCO percaya bahwa semua anak layak mendapatkan kesempatan untuk meraih potensi maksimal mereka, hingga lebih produktif, bertanggung jawab dan menjadi warga negara yang peka bahkan menjadi pemimpin di Indonesia.
 
Bekerja sama dengan otoritas sekolah lokal dan pemimpin komunitas formal dan non-formal, Tim ISCO di Lapangan berusaha :
 
·         Untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan keluarga yang paling utama;
·         Untuk memastikan anak-anak masuk sekolah setiap hari;
·         Untuk mendukung mereka dan keluarga mereka;
·         Untuk memastikan bahwa mereka tidak akan menjadi anak jalanan atau pekerja anak-anak lagi.

-          membina hubungan / jaringan dengan LSM lain yang dapat menunjang program-program ISCO

-          membuat program-program komunikasi dan hubungan masyarakat yang bertujuan menaikkan citra Yayasan di masyarakat
