Indonesia Economic Climate Change Assessment
Chemonics International is implementing the USAID-funded Climate Change Adaptation Thought Leadership and Assessments (ATLAS) project and one particular activity under this project assesses the economic costs of climate change in key sectors in Indonesia. For this activity, ATLAS seeks an Indonesian national to support the work of a pre-identified Economic Assessment. The activity and position descriptions are detailed below.

Indonesia Economic Climate Change Assessment
The objective of this activity is to provide USAID/Indonesia and the Government of Indonesia with actionable information about the potential economic costs of climate change in water-related sectors in order to raise awareness for the need for climate resilient development across the economy. The assessment will identify climate risks, adaption options, and costs of those risks and options to key economic sectors that are particularly relevant to both the climate change adaptation programming at USAD/Indonesia and the Jokowi administration. These include coastal and marine infrastructure, coastal, riverine and marine natural resources, agriculture and hydro-meteorological disasters.
Project Coordinator (35-45 days level of effort)
The Project Coordinator will support the Economic Assessment Specialist with logistics and data analysis and research. For logistics, she/he will schedule meetings, arrange transportation, provide oral translation from Bahasa to English as needed, and generally support the consultant with other logistics related tasks. On the research side, the Coordinator will review websites to find relevant information, perform informal translations of survey questionnaires and data table headers, and summarize or discuss contents of documents in originally published in Bahasa. The Project Coordinator will support the Economic Assessment Specialist and the Senior Climate Change Analyst with calculations and data management asneeded. 
·        Bachelor's or master's degree in social sciences or another technical field related to analysis of social and economic impacts of climate change.
·        At least one year (preferably 2-3 years) of relevant work experience involving administrative work, research assistant work, statistical analysis, and/or data collection and reporting
·        Fluency in Bahasa and professional proficiency in English required
Approximate timeline of work:
Aug 2015: Intermittent work to set up meetings/collect information
Sept 2015: Full time work for approximately three weeks
Oct-Dec 2015: Intermittent work, collecting information and meeting with people in Jakarta
Jan 2016: Full time work for approximately two weeks
