Consultant as Research Coordinator for Outcome Survey Empowerment Program for Indonesian Women Migrant Workers & Their Families in Their Place of Origin

Tifa with support from the National Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Workers (BNP2TKI), and the Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) and World Bank, embarks on an Empowerment Program for Indonesian Women Migrant Workers and Families in Their Place of Origin which is aimed to improving the condition of labor protection of Indonesian migrant workers, improve access to information management and financial services for migrant workers and their families at project sites.

Tifa will select the Research Coordinator competitively, and will give authority for the coordinator to create research.

Scope of Work:

  - Preparation of Outcome Survey
  - Research design through intensive consultation with Tifa
  - Organise all matters relating to this research
  - Field Data Collection: information collected in the survey is linked to benchmarking achievements.
  - Comparative analysis between the data gathered at this survey with the baseline.

Scope of Area
The research location is at the areas that have been surveyed during Baseline Survey in Banyuwangi, Cilacap, and Indramayu which include villages where the program intervention happened, the control village.

The target group of the research will include beneficiaries of the program (migrant workers and their families, including those who potentially becoming migrants), CBO developed during program, financial institution (bank and non-bank), the sub-district and provincial level of stakeholders, and parties related to the program which include BNP2TKI and donors.


Key Qualifications
Qualification of Research Coordinator:
  - Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  - Advance degree in social sciences or statistics.
  - Expert in research methodology
  - Having knowledge on migration and development will be an advantage
  - Having at least 3 years experiences in managing social research

The selected Consultant will be engaged locally for within the periods between August,22 2013 to September 30 , 2013.
