with Helen Keller as a founding trustee, Helen Keller International (HKI) works to save the sight and lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Headquartered in New York City, HKI offers programs in 21 countries in Africa and Asia as well as in the United States. The organization combats the causes and consequences of blindness and malnutrition by establishing programs based on evidence and research. Each year, their programs directly benefit millions of people, and children are a primary concern. 
 
SUMMARY OF PROGRAM:
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness among working age populations. There are currently over 9 million people with diabetes living in Indonesia; the fourth largest number in the world.
 
Since 2009, Helen Keller International – Indonesia (HKI-I) in collaboration with Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, we were developing the diabetic retinopathy screening program in Jakarta. Within DR Program, we were established the screening procedure, standard of grading and treatment for diabetes patients who has problem in their eyes.
 
Through SiB Phase V Program, we are expanding the DR Program to Bandung and Jogjakarta. The program will build the capacity of the hospital team to be able to provide comprehensive services for DR patients. Health promotion is one of key component to increase awareness among the patients, their family and the community. 
 
HKI Indonesia is looking for the Indonesian candidates to obtain the position: Program Field Coordinator (PFC)
 
DUTIES:
Program Field Coordinator (PFC) is responsible for the implementation of DR Program included:
–       Preparatory planning and implementation of the program for the three sites
–       Supervise the three field officers.
–       Coordinate activities relating to retinal photography, grading, referral and treatment between the area of screening (community, medical clinic) and the referral center.
–       Liaise with the ophthalmologists at the referral centers to develop appropriate systems and monitor these systems accordingly. 
–       Liaise with program partners in three sites.
–       Coordinate training activities for graders, photographers, ophthalmologists, GPs, health workers and educators along with the Senior Technical Coordinator
–       Liaise with the M&E Manager for strategies to monitor the various aspects of the program.
–       Monthly budget planning for each site. 
–       Provide timely and appropriate data to the program manager for reporting. 
–       Provide any additional supports to the Program Manager whenever required.
 
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
·        University degree in Public Health, Medical, Nutrition, Social Science or related discipline. Masters degree is a plus.
·        At least 3 years experience in handling the Health Programs
·        Experience working in I-NGO or clinic/hospital environment.
·        Knowledge about the government bureaucracy mainly the Department of Health and understand about the public health services system in Indonesia.
·        Fully computer literate with working knowledge of database system.
·        Excellent oral and written English.
·        Communicative and interpersonal skills. 
·        Strong leadership and program management skills.
·        Efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, respect for diversity, creative thinking, and punctual.
