Community Relations Officer - Central Kalimantan
Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta is a Kalimantan-based foundation that is striving to improve the quality of governance and well-being in areas affected by mineral development activities. The main focus is on participatory community development through capacity-building and economic livelihood support.
YTS is looking for an experienced Community Relations Officer to work in the field and build positive relations with key stakeholders close to the Marinyoi Base Camp in the upper Kahayan River watershed. The selected individual will be responsible for leading a small team of locals based at the Marinyoi Camp. YTS's programming is based on a participatory approach and methodology, and candidates are expected to have some experience with this approach and philosophy.
These are the main requirements for this position:
· At least five years field-based experience with community relations in the mineral resources field
· Very strong personnel management and team-building skills
· Knowledge and experience in working with local government
· Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals and organisations - villagers, government officials, donor agencies, civil society organisations, and resource companies
· Excellent interpersonal and social communication skills
· Must be fully fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, English and preferably local Dayak
· A university degree in a relevant discipline
· Willing and able to travel and work in remote areas
· Good computer skills - MS Office, internet
