International Organization for Migration (IOM) Indonesia is looking for a Project Assistant (Direct Victim Assistance) according to the terms of reference below:

II. Organizational Context and Scope
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the National Project Coordinator (NPC) and under overall supervision of the Chief of Misison, the Project Assistant will provide technical and administrative support for the implementation of IOM Indonesia’s Counter-trafficking projects.
The incumbent is expected to carry out his/her duties in accordance with strictest moral and ethical standards and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural differences of the victims
 

III. Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1.  Under the direct assistance component, the Project Assistant specific tasks will be: 
Managed victim assistance fund for trafficked victims, including assessing the effectiveness of the assistance, liaise with and monitor implementing partners, providing technical assistance for service providers;
Process support requests submitted by state and non-state partners to provide return, recovery and reintegration assistance to victims of trafficking; 
Consult IOM Indonesia’s General Practitioner on cases requiring medical support; reject/approve support requests on the basis of the application guidelines and criteria; 
Coordinate with the Victim Assistant Clerk and Caseworkers to liaise and coordinate with relevant referral partners on the administrative logistical arrangement of victims’ support; 
Coordinate with Admin Finance Assistant to make decision  on the financial need and review the financial report, regarding the Direct Assistance provided to victims of trafficking by state and non-state partners; 
Conduct regular monitoring field visits to assess partners’ performance in providing return, recovery and reintegration assistance to victims of trafficking and draft monitoring reports; 
Provide corrective recommendations to referral partners where necessary; 
Coordinate with the Database Assistant and Database clerk in completing and sharing files for Direct Assistance statistical reports.
 
2.  Assist the NPC with additional cross-cutting project implementation tasks, as follows: 
Liaise and coordinate with national and sub-national agencies, and relevant other non-state partners to meet program objectives; 
Provide clerical assistance (drafting letters of correspondence, etc.) as necessary.
Provide translation and interpretation services as required.
3.       Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

a)   Good knowledge and understanding of the labour migration and human trafficking context in Indonesia.

d)   Have ability to work with minimum supervision and maintain composure under pressure.
e)   Proficient in computer applications: Ms-Office : word, excel, PowerPoint, and solid experience  with database management.  
f)    Willing to travel to monitor project activities.
 

V. Education and Experience 
a)   Diploma Degree in Development Work, Programme Management, Social Science, Law, or counseling. An University degree in this field will be highly regarded.
b)   At least four years of experience in social work, including with battered women, rape victims, family/domestic abuse and trauma/post trauma care.
c)   Experience in working with trafficked victims and general counseling, awareness of gender issues and good networking skills will be distinct advantages.  
 
 
VI. Languages
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both oral and written
