Program Summary:

NetHope is a new-generation information technology collaboration of 39 leading international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) representing over US$40 billion invested in humanitarian development, emergency response, and conservation programs serving millions of beneficiaries in more than 180 countries including Indonesia. NetHope, as part of its Global Broadband Innovation Alliance (“GBI”) with the United States Agency for International Development, is managing the e-MITRA project in Indonesia to help support further development of a robust mobile financial services (“MFS”) ecosystem. e-MITRA is focused on providing MFS advisory assistance that will lead to the growth and scale of MFS platforms in Indonesia and helping to drive momentum for sector offerings of economically viable MFS products. The part-time consulting position is through NetHope, but work is expected to be performed for the e-MITRA project.

Position Summary:

Advocacy is a core offering of NetHope's e-MITRA program, and part of that advocacy is producing quality communication products and collateral that promotes and socializes MFS in the Indonesian context.  e-MITRA has already began development of a website, has an active blog and twitter account as well as a Facebook page.  Video production and story telling will be an additional way e-MITRA documents and promotes MFS in Indonesia.  This consultant position will be a part time role in supporting the planning, shooting, and post-production activities on a variety of short informative videos that will be for online consumption.  The subject and location of videos will be determined as the e-MITRA project advances.

Essential Consultant Functions and Outputs:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1.     The Contractor and NetHope’s communications consultant will work together to write and edit the video scripts and story board. The scripts should be engaging, informative, educational, conversational, and appropriate for video. The contractor and NetHope’s communications consultant will prepare draft scripts and make edits under the direction of e-MITRA’s Chief of Party until the final script is approved. 2.     The Contractor is responsible for producing a maximum of 6 videos with the duration of 3-5 minutes, which is designed to give the public a better understanding of MFS in Indonesia. 3.     The Contractor is responsible to provide excellent video footage. The scope of work includes video footage of interviews, meetings, projects, and landscapes. NetHope may provide some existing footage for review by the Contractor for suitability and selection. 4.     The contractor is responsible to edit the video footage to closely follow the script. The Contractor will prepare and draft video and make edits under the direction of NetHope until the final cut is approved. The final cut will keep in mind the audience, key message, and tone. 5.     The contractor is responsible to provide voice talent for the voice over in the videos. 6.     The contractor must have the capability to work closely with NetHope. The contractor must be prepared to undertake all liaison and site visits required to satisfy this requirement. Other duties assigned as necessary. Experience:

·         Experience in story boarding and script development ·         Experienced videographer with a portfolio of at least 15 fully edited productions, documentary style preferred ·         Experience in arranging logistics and interviews ·         Experienced editing and other post-production capacities ·         Familiarity with international development organizations

Expertise:

Script development, Cinematography, sound editing, video editing, and other documentary style production capacities

Additional Information:

Travel required to sites of filming
