Chief of Party for USAID – ASEAN-U.S.
Partnership for Good Governance, Equitable and Sustainable Development and Security (ASEAN-U.S. PROGRESS)
 
Chemonics International, a leading international development consulting firm, seeks a chief of party for
the anticipated USAID-funded ASEAN-U.S. PROGRESS project, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. This expected program seeks to support and enhance ASEAN's capacity to advance good governance and regional security, and to promote equitable and sustainable human development in Southeast Asia in line with ASEAN Political-Security and Socio-Cultural Blueprints, as well as the ASEAN-U.S.
Enhanced Partnership Plan of Action. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
 
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, development, economics, human rights, and related fields required; graduate degree preferred.
* Extensive work with multilateral or other intergovernmental institutions in Asia.
* Extensive work with development initiatives/activities in ASEAN member states in one or more of the sectors targeted by this project: public-private partnerships (PPPs); good governance; security sector (with focus on transnational issues); disaster management; women’s and children’s rights; science and technology.
* Extensive experience working with senior level policymakers and governmental leaders in quasi-diplomatic roles.
* Experience working with international donor-funded projects; USAID experience strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated experience managing and working with technical teams.
* Strong communications skills and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders.
* Fluency in English and one other ASEAN language required.
