The Nature Conservancy is a global conservation organization dedicated to preserve the plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters to survive.

Currently we are searching qualified candidate to fill position of:

ACCOUNTANT (TEMPORARY)

The Accountant is responsible to implement and manage the accounting system in compliance with The Nature Conservancy internal requirement. S/he is responsible for preparing and/or reviewing general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy of TNC’s financial reports.  Performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting-related tasks.  Verifies accuracy and coding for journal entry transactions and compares against source documents to ensure compliance with established accounting procedures.

The Accountant is expected to provide valid, relevant and accurate financial and operating information on timely basis to support the IMP (Indonesia Marine Program) Finance & Admin. Manager in setting the goals, decision making and control the performance of the project.  S/he should facilitate financial monitoring of expenses and assist IMP Finance & Admin. Manager for preparing the Indonesia Marine Program (IMP) Financial overview.

The Accountant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and in preparing basic financial reports.  She/he maintains the company’s A/P, payroll, general ledger, vendor payments and weekly and month-end reporting.  She/he may reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies. And may perform clerical duties related to accounting task/functions.
Duties may encompass a wide range of detailed accounting/financial transactions from preparation of check request, review EER and MER, including through general and subsidiary ledger entries, financial report preparation and reconciliation, bank statements and budget reporting.  S/he may prepare and analyze general ledger transactions to insure accuracy of TNC’s financial reports.

This position will be based in Bali. She/he will report directly to the IMP Finance & Admin. Manager and work closely with other finance team in Jakarta office.


Requirements:
·        Associates degree in accounting or 3-4 years related work experience or equivalent combination.
·        Demonstrated experience in MS Office (Word and Excel).
·        Decisive project management skills with the ability to plan and execute accordingly.
·        Excellent organizational skills, including establishment of priorities and commitment to deadlines.
·        Ability to work in fast-paced office and meet deadlines.
·        Good oral and written communication skills.
·        QuickBooks experience is a plus.
·        May require fluency in foreign language(s) to support global operations.  Specific language(s) may be preferred depending on operating unit.
