British Council

The British Council has signed an Agreement with The European Union to manage a Grant for the implementation of the project entitled: Improving Basic Education through Strengthening the Capacity of Local Government, Non-State Actors, and Schools.

The objective of this project is to contribute to sustained poverty reduction as a result of improved access to quality education, within the context of Indonesia’s Basic Education Strategic Plan 2010-2014, by promoting engagement between local governments, Non-State Actors and other stakeholders who are responsible for education service delivery.

The project is a 24 months project, started from January 2012, based in Kabupaten Kaur, Bengkulu Province, Indonesia.

The British Council is currently seeking Field Facilitator with roles and responsibilities are outlines below:

The Field Facilitator will report to the Project Coordinator. The Facilitator will work closely with the Senior National Advisor. The Field Facilitator will have prime responsibility for maintaining good relationship with local government, non-state actors (yayasan, dewan, non-NGOs), schools, parents, and communities. These roles will require:

  - Providing day-to-day on-the-job mentoring for local government, non-state actors and schools in implementing their roles and responsibilities;
  - Facilitating village leaders in monitoring children and influencing parents to be aware of the importance of education for their children;
  - Assisting the Consultants in training sessions/workshops;
  - Ensuring all follow up actions after trainings/workshops are implemented.

Minimum requirements:

  - A minimum of Bachelor (S-1) degree.
  - Experience in facilitating training at community and district levels.
  - Able to work under tight deadlines.
  - High degree of adaptability to varied working environments and good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  - Able to maintain good relationships with government agencies/institutions at all levels, Non-Government Organization, and Civil Society Organizations.
  - Extensive experience in working with provincial or district government officials and civil society leaders.
  - Ability to work extensively with district stakeholders in their district offices.
  - Good command of Indonesian communication skills.
  - Have a basic knowledge of computer skills (Microsoft Office), including internet and e-mail.

  We will be looking for candidates preferably who is familiar with Bengkulu Province.
