Save the Children

Save the Children is a leading, private child-focused non-governmental alliance of 29 member organizations that works in 120 countries throughout the world.  Save the Children has worked in Indonesia since 1976 to promote health and nutrition, education, child protection, livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response. Save the Children has grown enormously in the country and today we operate in 13 provinces across Indonesia. Our program in Indonesia has made significant progress at the national policy level in facilitating family-based care for neglected and vulnerable children. Currently Save the implements the National Standard of Care and Community based Child Protection in Province of Yogyakarta and we are immediately need for experienced staff to be part of our Child Protection CWAC and Exploited Child Labor team and will be based in Yogyakarta.

The position we are looking for is:
Project Coordinator (code: PC - DIY) – 1 post, based in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta

The post holder is directly report to Deputy of EXCEED Project Manager – S/he will coordinate, supervise and monitor the implementation of piloting the National Standard of Care and Community based Child Protection in Province of Jogjakarta to ensure effectiveness its compliance with Save the Children mission and CP and care program objectives.


Job Responsibilities:


Core Responsibilities
  1.  Based on CP and Care strategies, develop tactic to coordinate CP  staff and consultants and its compliance with Save the Children vision and mission and program objective
  2.  Maintain effective monitoring and reporting systems (including documentation of activities) to ensure the effectiveness of project implementation.
  3.  Develop and support the team’s capacity to meet their responsibilities.
  4.  Develop, maintain and improve mutual and beneficial relationships with local organization, government officials, local partners and other actors to ensure effective program implementation.
  5.  Provide direct line management support and supervision to team to ensure effective program implementation and its compliance with program objectives.
  6.  Plan and organize the day-to-day implementation of the program activities with the project team (will include preparing of workshops/meetings/events and monitoring of team work plans) to ensure the effectiveness and good quality of project interventions.
  7.  Monitor day to day implementation of activities/projects to ensure that are delivered in line with the allocated budget and resources.
  8.  Develop timely progress reports in order to ensure the provision of accurate and updated information.

Occasional Significant Duties
  1.  Represent Line manager in respective area
  2.  Represent organization in absence of Line Manager
  3.  Any other duty assigned by line manager


Requirements:
Education: Bachelor degree in related discipline.


Skill and Experiences:
   *  Minimum 4 years total working experience with at least 3 years working experience with NGO and responsible for similar duties.
  *  Good knowledge and understanding of child protection and care.
  *  Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skill.
  *  Excellent project management skill, analytical and conceptual thought.
  *  Proven skill in capacity building of team for project and strategy and implementation.
  *  Proven good relationships with government and non-government partners and other INGOs.
  *  Capable in project monitoring, evaluation and reporting system.
  *  Proactive and flexible.
  *  Good communication skill (written and spoken) English and Indonesian language.
  *  Good negotiation and advocacy skills
  *  Computer literate
