OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
To curb tobacco epidemic in Indonesia through building the capacity of related partners:; i.e. of the government, civil societies, and other national and international partners for advancing reduction in tobacco use.


MAIN DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED: Organizational context
The TNP will work as a member of a team at TFI unit of WCO, to collaborate with TFI unit at SEARO and WHO HQ in advancing the WHO tobacco free initiative, implementing the MPOWER strategy in advocating accession of WHO FCTC and building capacity of related in country partners and international partners in this area.


Summary of Assigned Duties Under the supervision of the Technical Officer – Health System and with technical collaboration with the NPOs Mental Health and NCD, with broad guidance of the WHO Representative Indonesia
and Regional Adviser – TFI, WHO SEARO, the incumbent will work as a member of a team at TFI unit of WCO, to collaborate with TFI unit at SEARO and WHO HQ in advancing the WHO tobacco free initiative, implementing the MPOWER strategy in advocating accession of WHO FCTC and building capacity of related in country partners and international partners in this area. To assist the WCO Indonesia management with planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of tobacco free initiative (TFI) activities under Bloomberg Initiative support; to advance MPOWER strategic package through:- collaboration with other related units of WHO in advancing WHO TFI program - providing assistance and support to MoH and other Government partners, and all NGOs/ Indonesian Tobacco Control Network members in advancing tobacco free initiative.- help in coordinating/facilitating the work of other international partners, such as the Union, CTFK, SEATCA and ASEAN Secretariat, and other UN agencies in tobacco control.

Functional Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge and skill in health hazards of tobacco, tobacco epidemics, global and national tobacco statistics, WHO
FCTC, MPOWER strategy and effective control measures.
Knowledge and familiarity on Government structure, MoH and NGOs

Education Qualifications: Essential:
Graduation in Public Health/ Medicine/ Social Science


Desirable:
Masters degree in related field


Experience: Essential:
Minimum One Year in the field of public health and advocacy and awareness campaign


Desirable:
Experiences in the field of risk communication and working/advocating public health issues targeting various
interest groups would be an added advantage.

Languages: Excellent knowledge of English and Indonesia

Other Skills (e.g. IT): Communication skill, writing and analysis of technical reports, advocacy activitiesComputer skills
