About The Organization
The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is a member of the CGIAR, a global partnership that unites organizations engaged in research for a food-secure future. As a global leader in agroforestry research and development, the Centre’s ultimate purpose is to improve human welfare by reducing poverty, increasing cash income, improving food and nutritional security, and increasing environmental resilience through improved agroforestry systems. The Centre’s headquarters is in Nairobi, Kenya, with work in 28 countries throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America. In 1992, the World Agroforestry Centre opened a program for Southeast Asia with Bogor, Indonesia, as its regional headquarters. We currently work in five Southeast Asian countries including Indonesia, The Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam and China.
 
The Position 
Under the supervision of AgFor Sulawesi Project Leader and Marketing Specialist, the Marketing Facilitator will assist the Marketing Specialist on leading the technical assistance of AgFor Marketing Component on-site program implementation and management, with special focus on Market Appraisals and Smallholder Enterprise Development activities within a multi-stakeholder governance framework in synergy with other programme components (livelihoods, environment, and governance).
 
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following :
·       Assisting AgFor Sulawesi Marketing Specialist in coordinating marketing research and development activities in South Sulawesi in collaboration with NGO partners and local government; 
·       Conduct and facilitate market surveys, community interviews and focus group discussions and trainings at district and grass-root level in coordination with Marketing Specialist;
·       Facilitate and monitor smallholder enterprise development at each AgFor sites in South Sulawesi in coordination with Marketing Specialist;
·       Together with Marketing Specialist and District Coordinator, establish, maintain and improve relationships with local partners (Government, NGOs, Communities) to ensure sustainability of the program;  
·       Prepare and develop weekly/monthly progress reports; 
·       Contributing in project communications, working papers, short articles, news from the sites and representing AgFor Marketing Component to functions at district and grass-root level.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
·       Minimum bachelor degree (S1) majoring in Social studies/Economics/Marketing/Agriculture/Forestry/Rural Development
·       Minimum of 2 (two) years experience on interacting with local community/farmers and in facilitating smallholder-scale enterprise development.
·       Experience in facilitating smallholder enterprise development
·       Excellent project and financial management;
·       Ability to work with all stakeholders, private and public sector clients and NGOs;
·       Good communication skills with the ability to operate at all levels and liaise effectively with local communities, government agencies and also familiar with Makassar/Konjo/Bugis culture and language;
·       Experience with writing reports and articles is advantageous 
Terms of offer 
§  This is a Professional Fixed Term nationally recruited staff position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
§  The contract is for a period of 2 (two) years, with possibility of renewal, subject to 3 (three) months evaluation period, assessment of performance and availability of resources.
