Chemonics International, a global international development consulting firm (www.chemonics.com) seeks qualified Indonesian specialists for the USAID Higher Education Leadership and Management (HELM) project in Indonesia.
HELM is a five-year project aiming to improve the academic performance of Indonesia’s higher education sector through analytical support for strategic planning, policy analysis, and capacity development approaches for effective implementation of key reforms throughout Indonesia’s higher education sector. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for
making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Monthly in-country travel required for most positions.

1.   Deputy Chief of Party

Responsible for providing management oversight and coordination of local professionals, technical advisors, and short-term experts to implement project activities, ensure close communication and coordination with USAID and DIKTI, and to implement timely achievement of project activities.

Qualifications

·  Master degree in higher education, education policy, education administration, comparative and international education, or relevant field required.

·  Minimum 10 years' relevant experience in higher education policy, administration or management required.

·  Familiarity with Indonesian higher education systems preferred.

·  Experience working with international donors or organizations strongly preferred.

·  Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia required.

2.   Program Coordinator

Responsible for day-to-day project management coordination and implementation, including establishing and monitoring project communications, implementing project annual work plans, and managing higher education training and capacity development programs. This position will be responsible for supervising local professional staff, technical advisors,
and short-term experts.

Qualifications

·  Master degree in higher education, education policy, education administration, comparative and international education, or relevant field required.

·  Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in higher education policy, administration or management required.

·  Familiarity with Indonesian higher education systems preferred.

·  Experience working with international donors or organizations strongly preferred.

·  Native verbal and written communication skills in English and strong verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia required.

3.  Collaboration and Partnership Specialist

Responsible for ensuring project relationships with USAID, DIKTI, higher education institutions, businesses, the private sector, and local communities, and civil society are established, coordinated, and managed to support project goals, objectives, and activities.

Qualifications

·   B.A./B.S. in relevant field required, Master’s degree preferred.

·   Minimum 5 years experience with managing external collaboration activities, including public-private partnerships, strongly preferred.

·   Past experience developing and managing relationships between Indonesian universities and regional and international universities or academic bodies strongly preferred.

·   Strong experience with Word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel), e-mails (Microsoft Outlook) required.

·   Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia required.
